Jannali Outdoor Living Project

Tucked away in the leafy suburb of Jannali, this project shows how a clever design and the right materials can completely transform an everyday backyard into a functional, modern retreat. The centrepiece of this build is an insulated pergola, paired beautifully with warm Leatherwood-toned composite decking and elegant glass pool fencing. Together, these elements create a balanced outdoor living space that feels light, open, and built to last.

The homeowners wanted a space that could be used comfortably all year round, somewhere to entertain guests, unwind after a long week, and enjoy Sydney’s warm climate without being exposed to the harsh sun.

Our team designed and installed an insulated pergola that not only delivers the shade and shelter they needed but also elevates the overall look of the space. Its sleek lines and clean finish make it a striking architectural feature, while the thermal insulation keeps the area cool in summer and comfortable in winter.

Underneath the pergola, we installed Leatherwood Ekodecking, a composite material known for its natural timber appearance and outstanding durability.

Its soft, warm tones complement the modern neutral palette of the home, tying the entire design together. Unlike traditional timber, this decking won’t fade, splinter, or require ongoing maintenance. It’s ideal for busy Sydney families who want beauty without the hassle.

To enhance the sense of openness, we finished the space with glass pool fencing. This detail gives the entire outdoor zone a seamless visual connection, allowing clear views from the alfresco area across to the pool and garden. The transparency of the glass also helps reflect light, making the space feel brighter and larger.
